Glo Skin Beauty Volumizing Mascara - Black

A mineral mascara that colors your lashes while nourishing them, without flaking throughout the day.

Why it works

A lash is a hair, and hair can dry out. Many mascaras consist primarily of pigment and film: beautiful on day one, but after a few months, your lashes feel stiffer and break more easily, exactly where you want them to look their fullest.

Glo works with mineral pigments and adds nourishing ingredients: vitamin E and plant-based oils such as olive and coconut oil, supplemented with rice bran wax. The wax holds the shape, while the oils keep the hair supple. The manufacturer describes the formula as long-wearing and smudge-resistant, with minimal fallout, flaking, or clumping. Removing it is simple with your regular cleanser; it is not a waterproof formula that you need to scrub off, which is a significant advantage in this delicate area.

About this mascara

The Volumizing version works on thickness. The brush is fuller, allowing it to pick up more product and coat each lash more generously, both upward and outward. The result is a firmer, fuller-looking lash line. The Black shade is a deep, rich black.

For whom

For lashes that already have length but look thin, and for those who prefer a more defined eye. If you have sensitive or watery eyes, a formula that can be removed with your regular cleanser is usually more comfortable than a waterproof version.

How to use it

Work from the base of the lashes to the tips, using a slight zigzag motion at the roots; that is where the volume should be, not on the tips. Let each layer dry for about half a minute before applying the next, otherwise, the lashes will stick together. Two thin layers give a better result than one thick one. Combining is allowed: start with the Lash Lengthening for shape, then apply this one to the outer half.

A tip from me

The skin around your eye is thin and lacks a subcutaneous layer of fat to cushion any rubbing. With mascara, things usually go wrong not during application, but during removal: drying and rubbing with a wipe pulls on your eyelid and can take lashes with it. Hold a cotton pad soaked in your cleanser against your closed eye for half a minute and only then wipe downwards, once.

And replace your mascara after about three months. Not to sell you anything, but because the formula dries out, leading you to pump and rub harder, which the delicate skin around your eyes does not appreciate.
