Description
Tawny is the deepest, warm-brown choice in this range. A compact with two mineral shades that you can use separately or blended, for the blue-grey shadow under your eyes that you can never quite cover with foundation alone.
Why it works
Dark circles are rarely just a matter of not getting enough sleep. What you see is usually a blue-grey shadow shining through thin skin. That is primarily a color problem and only secondarily a coverage problem, which is why there are two shades in this compact. One neutralizes the color of the shadow, the other matches your skin. By blending them to suit what your skin needs at that moment, you actually remove the shadow instead of just laying a light streak over it.
The pigments are mineral and finely milled, giving you a lot of coverage with very little product. The base is more nourishing than a classic concealer: safflower oil, rich in linoleic acid, keeps the delicate skin around your eyes supple, and an antioxidant complex with vitamins C and E helps protect your skin from external influences. The texture is creamy, blends easily, and sets with a soft, matte finish that stays put.
About this shade
Tawny is the warmest and deepest of the six: a warm brown with golden-brown undertones, for medium-deep to deep skin. The compact contains two shades around that color, allowing you to blend the correcting and covering shades to match your own skin. This is especially useful for deeper shades, as a concealer that turns out too light is most noticeable there. The manufacturer does not provide exact depth levels per shade, so if you are in doubt between two colors, please let me know.
For whom
For those who mostly see that shadow under their eyes in the morning, or want to conceal small discolorations around the nose and corners of the mouth. Also, if the skin around your eyes feels dry or fine: this formula is gentle and emollient enough not to settle into fine lines immediately. And even if you normally hardly wear makeup, because one layer in the right place does more for your face here than a full foundation.
How to use it
Always after your foundation, not before. Applying concealer first means you’ll just wipe it away with your foundation. Take a small amount on a concealer brush if you want full coverage, or warm the product up with your fingertip and then gently tap it in with a sponge for lighter, more natural coverage. Stay within the shadow itself, usually in the inner corner and just under the eye, and don't fill in the entire half-moon area down to your cheek. Feel free to adjust the mixing ratio of the two shades with the seasons: your skin is lighter in February than in September.
What I would like to share
The mistake I see most often is choosing a concealer that is too light. I understand the reasoning, as lighter looks more awake, but in practice, you end up with a pale mask on your face, and the shadow actually stands out more. It is better to choose a shade that is close to your skin and correct the color, not the brightness. Also, give your eye cream a full minute to absorb before you start; on dry eye skin, every concealer will settle into lines, and then it is not the fault of the product, but the base. And keep it small: in the studio, I work per eye with an amount the size of a grain of rice, warmed up on the back of my hand. You can always add more if you used too little. If you use too much, you have to take it off again.
Are you unsure if this is the right shade for you? Feel free to send me a message, and we can check it together.
