Glo Skin Beauty Under Eye Concealer - Honey

Honey is the warm, honey-colored choice in this range. A compact with two mineral shades that you use separately or blended, for the blue-grey shadow under your eyes that you can never quite get rid of with foundation alone.

Why it works

Dark circles are rarely just a matter of not enough sleep. What you see is usually a blue-grey shadow shimmering through thin skin. That is first and foremost a color problem and only then a coverage problem, which is why this little box contains two shades. One neutralizes the color of the shadow, the other matches your skin. If you mix them according to what your skin needs at that moment, you actually remove the shadow instead of just placing a light streak over it.

The pigments are mineral and finely milled, giving you a lot of coverage with little product. The base is more nourishing than a classic concealer: safflower oil, rich in linoleic acid, keeps the delicate skin around your eyes supple, and an antioxidant complex with vitamins C and E helps protect your skin from external influences. The texture is creamy, blends easily, and sets with a soft, matte finish that stays put.

About this shade

Honey is warm and honey-colored, with clearly more gold than pink in it. It sits in the medium to slightly deeper end of the range and suits skin that naturally looks warm. The compact contains two shades around that color, so you can blend the corrective and covering shades to suit your own skin. The manufacturer does not provide an exact depth for each shade, so if you are in doubt between two colors, please let me know.

For whom

For those who mostly see that shadow under the eyes in the morning, or want to cover small discolorations around the nose and the corners of the mouth. Also if the skin around your eyes feels dry or thin: this formula is soft and emollient enough not to settle into fine lines immediately. And even if you hardly wear any makeup, because one layer in the right place does more for your face here than a full foundation.

How to use it

Always after your foundation, not before. Anyone who applies concealer first will just wipe it away with the foundation. Take a small amount on a concealer brush if you want full coverage, or warm the product up with your fingertip and then gently tap it in with a sponge for lighter, more natural coverage. Focus only on the shadow itself, usually in the inner corner and just under the eye, and do not cover the entire half-moon area down to your cheek. Feel free to adjust the mixing ratio of the two shades with the seasons: your skin is lighter in February than in September.

What I would like to pass on

The mistake I see most often is choosing a concealer that is too light. I understand the reasoning behind it, as lighter looks more awake, but in practice, you end up with a pale pair of glasses on your face and the shadow becomes even more noticeable. It is better to choose a shade that is close to your skin and correct the color, not the brightness. Also, give your eye cream a full minute to absorb before you start; on dry eye skin, every concealer creeps into the fine lines, and that is due to the base, not the product. And keep it small: in the salon, I work per eye with an amount the size of a grain of rice, warmed up on the back of my hand. You can always add more if it's not enough. What is too much has to be removed.
