Description

A mineral powder foundation that evens out your skin without looking like you’re wearing anything at all. You can build the coverage yourself, from light to full.

Why it works

Powder foundation has a bad reputation for many people: dry, cakey, and visible in fine lines after a few hours. That is rarely the fault of the powder itself and almost always due to how finely it is milled. The minerals and mica in this base are triple-milled, which allows them to sit on top of your skin instead of sinking into it. You get a soft, semi-matte finish that diffuses light, without a white cast in photos.

It also contains skincare ingredients: vitamins C and E as antioxidants, and green tea extract to keep the skin calm. Talc-free. The texture feels weightless, and after half an hour, you won't even think about it anymore.

For whom

For all skin types, including sensitive skin and skin that has just undergone a treatment. It works particularly well for combination or oily skin and for skin that is prone to breakouts: it contains no oil, and you can safely apply it over a blemish.

It is also perfect for drier skin. In that case, the preparation makes the difference: ensure your skincare has fully absorbed before you begin.

How to use it

Apply your serum, moisturizer, and primer if using, and give them time to absorb. Then, using a kabuki brush or a sponge, press the powder into your skin with short, dabbing motions instead of sweeping. Sweeping moves the product; pressing allows it to sit on the surface. Start in the center of your face and work outwards. If you want more coverage in a specific area, apply a second thin layer rather than working with a thick layer right away.

About this shade

Beige Dark is the deepest shade within the beige family. The color direction is a neutral beige: not distinctly pink and not distinctly yellow.

A final tip

The mistake I see most often is not the foundation, but the shade selection. Test your color on your jawline, in daylight, and not on the back of your hand. Your hand is rarely the same color as your face and almost always leads you to a shade that is too dark. If you are debating between two, choose the lighter one. You can fix a shade that is too light with bronzer, but a shade that is too dark will remain visible on your jawline all day.

And one more thing: most people use too much. A thin layer where you need it is more beautiful than an even mask over your entire face. Let your skin remain skin.
