Glo Skin Beauty Precision Lip Pencil - Vino

A lip pencil that keeps your line sharp while also being able to color your entire lip.

Why it works

Lip color that bleeds into the fine lines around your mouth is rarely a matter of using too much product: it is a border that isn't defined. This pencil sets that border and keeps it, because the formula is water-resistant and barely shifts, melts, or transfers. What sets it apart from an ordinary lip pencil is what else is inside: jojoba oil and meadowfoam seed oil, ceramide NP, hyaluronic acid, and vitamin E. You would normally expect ceramides and hyaluronic acid in your skincare. The former helps hold the skin barrier together, while the latter binds moisture. As a result, the line doesn't feel like a dry streak.

The texture is velvety soft with a satin, slightly glossy finish. It is blendable and buildable, so you decide whether it stays a line or becomes a full color.

About this color

Vino is a raisin-like wine red: deep, warm, and dark. Under a berry or plum-colored lipstick, it adds extra depth; worn alone, it is distinctly present. Lovely with dark hair and a medium to deep skin tone.

For whom

For anyone who notices lipstick starting to bleed, or who notices that the lip contour is becoming less defined over the years. Also, if you want to make your lips look a bit fuller: you can work just against the outer edge of your natural line, which makes a big difference optically. And for those who don't really wear lipstick but still want a little something, using just the pencil, blended out, is often enough.

How to use it

Trace the border, starting at the corners of your mouth and working toward the center. That is where the shape is and where things usually go wrong. Afterward, fill in the entire lip instead of just the edge, otherwise, you will see a dark outline around a faded center after a few hours. You can then apply lipstick or gloss over it, or leave it as is. Keep the tip sharp with a sharpener; that's half the battle.

What I'd like to share with you

The lip pencil is the product that is skipped most often and where I see the biggest difference. Not because it is spectacular, but because your color stays on much longer, and that makes more of a difference than a more expensive lipstick. Something I often correct in the studio: people draw their line just outside or just inside the edge of their lip. Look in the mirror to see where your lip tissue transitions into skin and place your line exactly there. That is the difference between well-groomed and drawn-on.
