Why it works

The skin on your eyelid is thin and moves all day long. A pencil that is too hard pulls at the skin and applies unevenly; a pencil that is too soft smudges against your upper eyelid. This pencil sits right in the middle: the formula is creamy enough to create a solid line in one stroke, but sets afterwards so it stays in place.

The formula is enriched with antioxidants and developed with sensitive eyes in mind, which is especially noticeable if you wear contact lenses or if your eyes are prone to irritation from eye makeup. Black is the most defining color in the range: it provides the strongest definition for the lash line and makes your lashes look fuller.

Who it's for

For anyone who wants a clear eye line, and for those with thinning lashes: a thin line between the lash hairs adds density without reading as "eyeliner." Black is intense, so if you are looking for a very soft look or have a very fair complexion, you may prefer to smudge it rather than leave it sharp.

How to use it

Draw short strokes from the inner corner outwards, right against the lash line rather than above it. That little strip of skin between your lashes and your line is what makes a line look "drawn on"; filling it in makes it look natural. If you want a softer look, blur the line immediately with the sponge on the other end before the pencil sets.

A final tip

Sharpen your pencil regularly, even though it uses up the product. A dull tip is the reason why a line becomes thick and irregular, and why you end up pressing harder on an area where you want to be gentle. That is what the Pencil Sharpener is for, available separately in the webshop.

And a note of honesty regarding the waterline: a line on your lower waterline won't stay put all day on anyone. Tear fluid washes it away; it's not a matter of quality, but of how an eye functions. If you want your line to last, work above the lash line and leave the waterline for those moments when you'll be heading out shortly after.
