Obagi Medical - Nu-Cil Eyelash Enhancing Serum

A lash line serum, for those who notice that their lashes have become thinner and shorter than they used to be.

Why it works

Lashes rarely disappear suddenly. They gradually become finer, just like the hair on your head, and this is exacerbated by years of mascara, waterproof remover, and rubbing. This serum works with NouriPlex, a combination of biotin, which is involved in the production of keratin, the protein that makes up a hair, with panthenol, sodium hyaluronate, and a lipid complex. Together, they keep the lash and the skin of the lash line supple and nourished.

The texture is very fluid, and you apply it with a fine brush, just like eyeliner. Fragrance-free.

For whom

For lashes that look thinner, shorter, or wispy-er than they used to. Also, if you have just stopped using lash extensions or had a lash lift: that is precisely the moment when your own lashes are at their most sparse.

Are you pregnant or breastfeeding, do you have sensitive or dry eyes, an eye condition, or a recent eye surgery? Consult your doctor first. If you wear contact lenses, remove them before application.

How to use it

In the evening, on a cleansed and completely dry eyelid. Apply a thin line to the base of your upper lashes, as you would apply a line of eyeliner. Do not apply to the lower eyelid or your face. Let it dry for a minute and a half before proceeding with your eye cream or night cream.

A slight tingling or some redness in the beginning may occur; if so, switch to every other day for a while. If you get it in your eye, rinse with cold water. If your eyelid remains irritated, red, or swollen, stop using the product. As with other powerful lash serums, there is a small chance that the iris could become darker; this was not observed in the Obagi studies.

What I would like to tell you

This is one of the products I am most satisfied with. The results are truly visible, both for loss of lashes and for lashes that are naturally short.

Patience determines your success. A lash has its own growth cycle, which takes months. Realistically, count on about four months of daily use before you see the full results: fuller, longer lashes, without the false-lash effect.

Two practical tips. Take a photo at the beginning, straight from the front, in daylight. You will forget how it used to be, and without that photo, you won't see your own progress. And don't stop as soon as it looks better: the effect lasts as long as you use it, and fades back to your starting point afterwards. One tube lasts about two to three months.
