Obagi Medical - Elastiderm Kit: Lift & Sculpt Facial Moisturizer + Eye Treatment Cream

The two Elastiderm treatments that work on the same issues, together in one set: the day cream for your jawline and facial contours, and the eye cream for the area where your skin is thinnest.

Why they work

Sagging is not a matter of a lack of hydration. The elastin network in your skin, the tissue that makes it bounce back, starts to break down in your thirties. Obagi addresses this with a combination of zinc, copper, and malonate. The day cream adds polyglutamic acid to this, a moisture binder that makes the skin feel firmer from the inside out instead of just layering on top. The eye cream contains blueberry and licorice root extracts, two antioxidants that soothe the eye area.

The day cream is light and gel-like and doesn't get in the way under makeup or sunscreen. The eye cream is creamy, absorbs completely, and is non-comedogenic, so you won't get any white bumps from it.

For whom

For those who notice that their facial contours are softening, that the skin around the jaw and neck feels looser, and simultaneously see fine lines and a creased texture around the eyes. Those two go hand in hand: it is the same tissue that is failing, it just becomes noticeable around the eyes first.

This set is also perfect for oilier skin types. The day cream does not weigh the skin down.

How to use them

Use the day cream morning and evening, after cleansing and serum. Apply it with upward strokes and include the neck, extending back to behind the ears. That is the area most often forgotten.

Use the eye cream once or twice a day. Apply four or five small dots around the eye, on the orbital bone, and tap them in with your ring finger. Do not apply too close to the lash line: heat and blinking will move the product a few millimeters inward anyway during the night, and applying it too close is what gives you swollen eyelids in the morning.

What I would like to tell you

This is not a one-week fix. Count on about six weeks before you see the difference in the mirror, and even then, you will see it yourself later than someone who hasn't seen you for a month.

You only need about a grain of rice per eye for the eye cream. More is not better; more just leads to swelling. A jar should last for months.

And what I notice time and again in the salon: the people for whom this works best are not the ones with the most expensive routine, but the ones who include their neck. Every single day.
