Description
Neoretin's heaviest artillery: an intensive 30 ml emulsion for stubborn pigment spots that won't budge for anything else.
Why it works
Where the rest of the range uses one retinoid, this emulsion combines two. RetinDuo brings together 0.3% retinol and 0.05% retinal, with a chlorophyll-based booster. Retinal is the intermediate step between retinol and retinoic acid, and it works faster than retinol alone.
In addition, it contains tranexamic acid and niacinamide, both of which target the pigment process itself, as well as EDAFENCE for anti-pollution protection.
This is not a product to be taken lightly. It is made for what remains when a standard serum is not enough: melasma and pigment left behind after inflammation.
For whom
For stubborn hyperpigmentation, melasma, and post-inflammatory marks, for skin that can handle a bit more.
Not for sensitive skin, and not during pregnancy or breastfeeding. If you are pregnant, choose the Pigment Neutralizer Serum — it works with bakuchiol and is suitable during that time.
How to use it
In the evening, on the face and neck. Shake the bottle before use.
Build it up. Start with two or three evenings per week and only increase frequency if your skin tolerates it well. Use a high SPF during the day, every day, without exception — with this concentration of retinoids, that is not a recommendation but a requirement.
What I would like to tell you
This is a product I provide to clients whose skin I know, and usually only after we have started with something gentler. Not because I am holding it back, but because starting too strong too quickly is the worst thing you can do for pigment.
Combining two retinoids requires an adjustment period. There is almost always a phase between week two and week four where your skin feels a bit rougher and flakes slightly. That is part of the process and it will pass, but it is the moment when most people give up.
And do not layer. No peel pads, no scrub, no other acid on the same evening. A damaged skin barrier reacts to pigment just as it reacts to the sun: with more pigment.
Also, do not start using it right before a party or a trip to the sun. Choose a quiet period.
Are you considering this? Ask about it at your next appointment, and we will see if your skin is ready for it.
