Description
The cleansing gel from Neoretin’s Discrom line: the first step in a pigment routine, formulated with 5% niacinamide and a gentle triple exfoliation.
Why it works
A cleanser that only removes makeup is a missed opportunity in a routine you perform twice a day anyway. This one does more.
The exfoliating complex works in three ways at once to loosen the top layer of dead skin cells—very gently, not like a peel, but enough to make your skin look fresher and to improve the absorption of whatever you apply afterward. It also contains 5% niacinamide, a solid dosage for a rinse-off product, along with tranexamic acid, lactobionic acid, and RetinSphere.
That absorption is what it’s really all about. A serum that has to work its way through a layer of dead cells does less than the same serum on well-prepared skin.
The gel lathers slightly and rinses off clean.
For whom
For anyone addressing pigment spots and an uneven or dull complexion. Naturally combines with the rest of the Discrom line, but works just as well if you only add this step.
How to use it
Apply to damp skin, gently massage until a light lather forms, and rinse thoroughly. Use morning, evening, or both, as the first step of your routine.
Avoid the eye contour. During the day, high sun protection is a must for any routine containing acids.
What I’d like to share with you
I’m honest about what a cleanser is: it gets rinsed off. So don’t expect it to solve your spots—that work lies in your serum and your daytime protection.
But it is the easiest step to stick to, and that is where its value lies. You clean your face anyway. If you do it with a product that actively contributes instead of a gel that just lathers, you win a little bit every day, without having to remember anything extra.
One warning: if you are already using peel pads or an acid concentrate in the evening, skip this cleanser that evening and use a mild one instead. Otherwise, you are exfoliating twice in one evening, and no skin benefits from that.
