Glo Skin Beauty Lash Lengthening Mascara - Black

A mineral mascara that colors your lashes while conditioning them, without flaking throughout the day.

Why it works

A lash is a hair, and hair can dry out. Many mascaras consist primarily of pigment and film: beautiful on day one, but after a few months, your lashes feel stiffer and break more easily, right where you want them to be long.

Glo uses water-based mineral pigments and adds conditioning ingredients: panthenol, better known as vitamin B5, and softening waxes such as sunflower seed wax and carnauba wax. These waxes do two things at once: they hold the shape and keep the hair supple. The manufacturer describes the formula as long-lasting and smudge-proof, with minimal flaking. It is easy to remove with your regular cleanser; it is not a waterproof formula that you have to scrub off, and in this specific area, that is an advantage.

About this mascara

The Lash Lengthening focuses on length and definition. The brush is tapered, allowing it to catch lashes one by one and keep them separated instead of clumping them together. The result is an open, groomed lash: longer and more defined, rather than thicker. The Black shade is a deep black.

For whom

The logical choice for short or fine lashes, and for those who prefer a groomed look over a dramatic one. If you have sensitive or watery eyes, a formula that washes off with your regular cleanser is usually more comfortable than a waterproof version.

How to use it

Work from the root of the lashes to the tip, using a slight zigzag motion at the base; that is where the effect lies, not in the tips. Let each coat dry for about half a minute before applying the next, otherwise the lashes will still stick together. Two thin coats give a better result than one thick one. Combining is allowed: apply this one first for shape, then the Volumizing on the outer half.

A tip from me

The skin around your eye is thin and lacks a layer of fat underneath to absorb friction. With mascara, things usually go wrong not during application, but during removal: rubbing dry with a wipe pulls on your eyelid and takes lashes with it. Place a cotton pad soaked in your cleanser on your closed eye for half a minute, and only then wipe downwards, just once.

And replace your mascara after about three months. Not to sell you anything, but because the formula dries out, causing you to naturally start pumping and rubbing harder, which the thin skin around your eyes does not appreciate.
