Description
A capsule containing Heliocare’s fern extract, supplemented with three vitamins. Intended as a complement to your sunscreen, not as a replacement.
What's inside
Per capsule: 360 mg Fernblock+, the standardized extract of Polypodium leucotomos, 16 mg niacinamide (100% of the reference intake), 5 micrograms of vitamin D (100%), and 12 mg of vitamin E (100%). A box contains 30 capsules. The formula is gluten-free and vegan.
What I am allowed to say about it
Each of the three vitamins is included at one hundred percent of the reference intake, so I am permitted to use those official claims. Niacin contributes to the maintenance of normal skin and mucous membranes, to normal energy-yielding metabolism, and to the reduction of tiredness and fatigue. Vitamin D contributes to the normal function of the immune system and to the maintenance of normal bones and muscle function. Vitamin E contributes to the protection of cells from oxidative stress.
I am not allowed to attribute any effect to the fern extract itself. It is listed by name and quantity, and that is all.
For whom
For all skin types exposed to strong sunlight: a week of skiing, a summer in the garden, or a holiday spent mostly outdoors. Also interesting in winter, as the vitamin D it contains does what it needs to do then. Not for children, and not for use during pregnancy, breastfeeding, or while undergoing medical treatment without consulting your doctor.
How to use it
One capsule per day, before you head out into the sun. Do not exceed the recommended daily dose. Store below 30 degrees, in a dry and dark place, out of reach of children. A food supplement does not replace a varied diet and a healthy lifestyle.
What I would like to highlight
Thirty capsules, one per day: that is one month. This makes it a product for a specific period, not for the entire year. I usually recommend it for the weeks when you are truly spending a lot of time outdoors, rather than something to be taken from January to December.
And again, because this is the core: this is a supplement. Your sunscreen remains your sunscreen; apply it every morning and reapply every two hours when you are outside. If a capsule makes someone more careless about applying sunscreen, then they are ultimately worse off. I hear that more often than I would like.
If you are working on pigment issues, this is the season where you have the most to lose. Protection is not a secondary matter; it is the most important part of the work.
Are you unsure between this one and another Heliocare product? Let me know, and we can look at your skin and your plans together.
