Glo Skin Beauty HD Mineral Foundation Stick - Fresco 3N

A creamy foundation in stick form that you apply directly to your skin and blend out. You use it as a foundation, as a concealer, and with a shade darker or lighter, also for contouring or highlighting.

Why it works

A stick might sound like a lot of product, but in practice, you usually use less of it than you would a liquid foundation: you only apply it where you need it. The cream melts at skin temperature, causing it to adhere to your skin instead of sitting on top of it. Hence that second-skin finish.

The formula contains hyaluronic acid, a moisture-binder that retains water in the top layers of your skin, so the coverage doesn't dry out over the course of the day. It also contains mineral pigments and an antioxidant complex with vitamins C and E.

The coverage ranges from light to full, depending on how much you apply and how far you blend it out. The texture is creamy and light.

For whom

For all skin types, and especially great if your skin is reactive. It's also practical if you are short on time or want to touch up on the go: you don't need a brush, your fingers are enough.

This works perfectly for oilier skin, too. Just apply it thinly and set it with a powder.

How to use it

Swipe the stick directly onto your skin in short lines on the areas where you want coverage. Then blend out with your fingertips or a brush, using patting motions instead of wiping: the warmth of your fingers helps the cream melt.

If you want to contour, take a shade or two darker and apply it under your cheekbones, along your hairline, on the sides of your nose, and on your jawline. For highlighting, do the same with a shade or two lighter, on your forehead, your brow bone, your cheekbones, and your chin.

About this shade

Fresco 3N is a light shade with a neutral undertone. The number in the name indicates the depth, from 1 (lightest) to 12 (deepest). The letter after it stands for the undertone: C is cool, N is neutral, and W is warm.

A tip from me

Test your shade on your jawline, in daylight, and not on the back of your hand. Your hand is rarely the same color as your face and will almost always steer you a shade too dark. If you're doubting between two, pick the lighter one: you can fix too light with a bronzer, but too dark remains visible all day.

One more thing from the cabin: most people twist the stick out way too far. Half a centimeter is plenty, and this way the tip won't break off. Twist it all the way back down after use before putting the cap on, and the surface will stay neat.
