Heliocare Color Gelcream SPF 50 Brown - 50 ml

A tinted gel-cream with high sun protection in a warmer shade, for those who want a healthy glow without having to apply foundation and sunscreen separately.

Why it works

What makes this product interesting is that you don't have to compromise. It provides the coverage of a light liquid foundation with a natural finish, while simultaneously offering high SPF 50 protection.

Underneath that, it contains a stable combination of sun filters, supplemented with Fernblock, the fern extract that Heliocare uses as an antioxidant alongside the filters, as well as green tea. The shade itself also plays a role: color pigments help shield visible light, which is exactly the type of light that pigment spots are sensitive to.

The texture is a gel-cream, making it more comfortable than the oil-free gels in the 360 range. Non-comedogenic.

For whom

For normal to dry skin with a light to medium skin tone, and for those who tan in the summer. If you remain paler, the Light shade is a more logical choice. If you have oily or combination skin, you are better off with the 360 Color Gel Oil-Free, which stays matte. If you don't want any color at all, choose the Sensation or the transparent 360 Gel Oil-Free.

How to use it

In the morning as the final step, on top of your skincare. Use two fingers' worth for your face, ears, and neck: a line along your index and middle finger. Dot it on and blend with your fingers or a sponge, working down past your jawline to avoid any visible edges. Reapply every two hours when you are outdoors.

What I'd like to share with you

It is best to choose a shade based on your neck, not your hand or cheek. The neck is the area where the wrong color is immediately noticeable, and it's also the place people often forget to blend into. If you are doubting between two shades, choose the lighter one: skin that looks slightly too pale is less noticeable than a line along the jaw.

And an honest point that applies to the entire range: almost nobody uses enough. You only achieve the SPF stated on the packaging with a generous layer and by reapplying every two hours. For that reapplication, the Compact or the transparent stick is more practical than this gel-cream.
