Emmagen - Firm & Glow Hydrogel Eyepatches

Hydrogel under-eye patches, for when your gaze looks more tired than you feel.

Why they work

A hydrogel is not a cloth wipe soaked in serum, but a gel matrix that clings to your skin and releases its contents slowly. Because the area is sealed off for a while, the active ingredients penetrate better than if you were to simply spread them on. These patches contain bakuchiol, a plant-based ingredient that has a similar effect on the skin as retinol when it comes to fine lines and an even complexion, but is much gentler on the eye area. They also contain plant-based collagen and acetyl hexapeptide-8, a peptide that works on expression lines, plus glycerin and adenosine.

The texture is cool and silky, and the patches stay in place without feeling sticky. That cooling sensation isn't just pleasant: cold causes the fine blood vessels under your eyes to constrict, which is what visibly reduces puffiness in the morning.

For whom

For those with fine dehydration lines, puffiness, or a dull eye area. Also great if the skin around your eyes is sensitive or slightly damaged and you cannot tolerate retinol: bakuchiol is a gentler choice for that. And surprisingly, also for those who have no wrinkles at all but simply aren't sleeping well.

How to use them

Cleanse your face and apply the Hyal Balancing Lotion. Then, take a patch out of the jar using the spatula—never use your fingers, as this introduces bacteria into the serum and will shorten the shelf life of the product. Place the narrow end at the inner corner of the eye so that the wide part covers your lines. Leave on for twenty minutes or longer. Remove them and massage in any remaining serum, followed by your eye care. Once opened, they remain good for about three months.

What I would like to share with you

I personally prefer using these in the evening, even though mornings are when you want them most. Your skin recovers at night, so whatever you apply in the evening has all night to do its work. If you sleep soundly, you can even leave them on. People often think that using them once before a party makes all the difference. That is true for puffiness, but not for fine lines. If you want to see those change, use them every day for the first month and then maintain with two to three times a week. And keep the jar in the fridge; that cooling effect only gets better.
