Description
A cleansing gel that not only cleanses but also gently exfoliates, for skin that looks dull and has visible pores.
Why it works
Your skin is constantly renewing itself, but as we age and with oilier skin, these dead cells tend to stick around longer. This is what you see as a gray complexion and rough texture. This gel contains 15 percent alpha hydroxy acids, primarily glycolic acid and citric acid, which loosen the bonds between these old cells so they shed naturally. This is fundamentally different from a scrub, which uses grains to abrade the skin and often does more harm than good for sensitive or blemish-prone skin. Azelaic acid also helps even out skin tone, while bisabolol and calendula are included to keep everything feeling soft.
The texture is creamy and turns into a light foam upon contact with water. What is striking after rinsing is that your skin doesn't feel tight, which is certainly not a given with acids.
For whom
For normal to oily skin with a dull complexion, enlarged pores, or a rough texture. Also great for those who enjoy exfoliating but find scrubs or leave-on acid products too intense: because you rinse this off, the contact time remains short, reducing the chance of irritation.
How to use it
Use once or twice a day on wet skin. Massage gently until it foams and rinse thoroughly with lukewarm water, never hot. Initially, your skin may tingle slightly. Build up usage gradually: start every other day and only move to daily use once your skin tolerates it well. Since you are using acids, always follow with sun protection in the morning. Skin that has just been exfoliated is more sensitive to UV rays.
A final tip from me
The biggest mistake I see with acids is impatience. People feel that tingling sensation, think it’s working, and start cleansing twice a day while adding an acid serum on top. A week later, they’re here with red, tight skin, claiming they are allergic. They aren't; they’ve simply broken down their barrier. One exfoliating product per routine is enough. And give it time: the complexion usually clears up after two to three weeks, with the texture improving shortly after. If your skin pushes back, switch to a mild cleanser for a while and come back when everything has calmed down.
Not sure if your skin is ready for acids? Feel free to send me a message, and we can check it together.
