Obagi Medical - ELASTIderm Eye Treatment Cream

A light eye cream for the area where the skin is thinnest and fine lines appear first.

Why it works

The skin around your eyes is a fraction of the thickness of the rest of your face, has hardly any sebaceous glands, and moves tens of thousands of times a day. As a result, you not only see lines here, but also that crepy, thin aspect that cream alone cannot change. This cream works with a combination of zinc, copper, and malonate that supports the production of elastin, the tissue that makes your skin snap back. Supplemented with blueberry extract and licorice root extract, two antioxidants that soothe the skin.

The texture is light and creamy, absorbs completely, and the formula is non-comedogenic, so it won't cause white bumps.

For whom

For fine lines, a crepy texture, and an eye contour that feels less firm than before. Also useful from your thirties onwards, then more as maintenance than correction.

If you mainly suffer from under-eye bags and puffiness, the Elastiderm Eye Complete Complex Serum with caffeine is better suited. You can combine them: serum first, cream afterwards.

How to use it

Once or twice a day, after cleansing. Apply four or five small dots around the eye, on the orbital bone, and pat them in with your ring finger until absorbed. Your ring finger naturally applies the lightest pressure.

Do not apply too close to the lash line. Warmth and blinking will move the product a few millimeters inward throughout the night anyway, and applying too close is what causes swollen eyelids in the morning.

What I would like to share with you

Two things that I repeat almost weekly at the checkout.

One: amount. An eye cream requires about as much as a grain of rice per eye. More is not better; more just means swelling. A jar should last for months.

Two: expectation. Fine lines caused by dryness will soften within a few weeks. Lines that are also present when your face is completely at rest will take months and will not disappear. What you can realistically expect is an eye contour that looks less thin and crepy and carries your makeup better. And honestly: sleep, water, and sunglasses in the summer do at least as much for this area as any jar ever will.
