Why it works

Under-eye bags are usually not a matter of aging, but of fluid that hasn't drained properly overnight. Lymphatic flow around the eyes slows down while you sleep, and you'll see the results the next morning, especially after a salty meal, a glass of wine, or a short night's sleep. Caffeine, the key active ingredient here, temporarily constricts the small blood vessels and helps move that fluid along. Additionally, it contains a combination of zinc, copper, and malonate, which supports elastin production: this is the long-term work, focused on the firmness of the skin around your eyes.

The formula is watery and cooling, and the metal rollerball does just as much as the contents: that massage motion is exactly what stimulates drainage.

For whom

For under-eye bags and a tired look, more so than for fine lines. If you primarily want to target lines and crinkled skin around the eyes, the Elastiderm Eye Treatment Cream is the better choice. You can use both together: apply the serum first, followed by the cream.

How to use it

Morning and evening, after cleansing. Gently roll under the eye and on the outer corner, moving from the inner corner outwards, then blend in with your ring finger. Stay on the orbital bone and do not go too close to the lash line.

My advice

Keep the bottle in your fridge. The effect on under-eye bags comes largely from the cold and the motion of the roller, and cold simply works better than room temperature. Two minutes of rolling in the morning while your coffee is brewing, and you'll see the difference that same day.

Do be honest with yourself about what this can do. A puffy eye contour caused by fluid retention will show visible improvement. If it is a fat pad under the eye—something that often runs in the family and that you have had for years—this serum will soften the appearance but will not remove it. You can easily spot the difference yourself: fluid bags are worse in the morning and subside throughout the day, while fat pads remain the same all day long.
