Glo Skin Beauty Cream Stay Shadow Stick - Shell

A creamy eyeshadow stick that you apply to your eyelid in one swipe and blend out with your finger. For anyone who loves eyeshadow but rarely has the time or patience to start using brushes.

Why it works

Powder shadow needs something to hold onto. On an eyelid that becomes a bit oily throughout the day, powder gathers in the crease, and by late afternoon, you see a line instead of a color. A cream formula works differently: it adheres to the skin itself and then sets into a layer that no longer shifts.

Glo uses mineral pigments in a base of hydrogenated jojoba oil, a softening ingredient that allows the stick to glide smoothly without tugging at the delicate skin of your eyelid. It also contains the antioxidants vitamin C and E. The manufacturer claims a wear time of up to twelve hours without the color creasing. How long it lasts for you depends on your skin and how warm the day is, but you will notice the difference compared to loose powder immediately.

The texture is creamy and blends easily. You have about half a minute to blur the edges before it sets. There is a sharpener on the other end of the stick so the tip stays fine, allowing you to draw a line with it as well.

Shell is a blush pearl: a soft pinkish shade with a pearlescent finish, and the lightest in the range.

For whom

For those who like to keep it simple: one stick serves as eyeshadow, a base for powder shadow, and eyeliner. It is also great if your eyes tear up easily or if powder always ends up under your eyes, as this formula does not dust. And on more mature eyelids, where the skin is looser and powder tends to settle into creases, a cream is usually the more refined choice.

How to use it

Apply two or three strokes to your eyelid and blend them out immediately with your ring finger or a short, firm brush. Immediately—that is the whole point: once the formula sets, it does not budge, and every edge stays exactly where you placed it. It is better to build it up in two thin layers rather than one thick one. If you want to create a line, sharpen the tip with the sharpener and draw it briefly along your lash line.

A little advice from me

The skin around your eyes is thinner than on the rest of your face and lacks a layer of fat underneath to absorb pressure. What I see most often in the treatment room is that this area is overworked: rubbing, correcting, rubbing again. In the long run, that daily tugging does more harm than any product you put on it. So, use a light touch and tap an edge away instead of smearing it.

And a word of honesty: a cream shadow stays on well, but it is not indestructible. On a hot day or on a naturally oily eyelid, it may still shift. A thin base layer underneath makes more of a difference than a thicker layer of shadow.
