Glo Skin Beauty Contour/Highlighter Brush

A double-sided brush: a soft, round head for blending out shadow and a narrow, tapered head for precise placement of light. Synthetic and vegan.

What it’s for

Contouring and highlighting require different things from a brush. Shadow needs to be softly diffused, otherwise you’ll see a line. Light needs to remain well-defined, otherwise the effect disappears. Hence the two heads in one brush.

How to use it

Use the round side for your contour: apply the color under your cheekbone, along your hairline, and on your jawline, and always blend upwards and outwards until you can no longer see where it begins or ends. Use the narrow side to apply highlighter to the top of your cheekbone, your brow bone, and the bridge of your nose.

A quick tip from me

Wash it every two weeks with mild soap in lukewarm water, with the bristles facing downwards so that no water runs into the ferrule where the glue is. With a double-sided brush, it’s easiest to do this one head at a time, with the other side facing up. Let it dry flat with the heads over the edge of a towel.

A helpful detail: wash the contour side more often than the highlighter side. Dark pigment stays in the fibers longer, and you'll notice that the next time you want to apply something light.
