Emmagen - Bright & Clear Balancing Foam

A creamy cleanser that turns into foam upon contact with water, leaving your skin clean without that tight feeling afterwards.

Why it works

The problem with most foaming cleansers isn't the foam itself, but the pH. Your skin sits around 5, and a classic soap-based cleanser pushes that to 9 or 10. Your skin then needs hours to recover, and during that time, it is more vulnerable. This foam is formulated not to disrupt that pH, hence its official name: pH Balancing Foam.

Pumpkin extract makes up 85 percent of the formula, supplemented with seventeen types of amino acids, the building blocks of your skin’s natural moisturizing factors. Niacinamide is added for a more even complexion, along with ceramide NP and squalane to replenish the lipid layer, and licorice and allantoin extracts to soothe. That is exactly why this cleanser doesn't dry you out: what it removes, it partially replenishes.

The texture is creamy in the bottle and turns into a fine, soft foam. It rinses off easily and leaves no film behind.

For whom

For all skin types, and especially for those who say their complexion has become dull and uneven. Also for those who actually have oily skin and are used to strong cleansers: that over-cleansing is exactly what keeps sebum production going. And for those with sensitive skin who have always avoided foam, this might be a pleasant surprise.

How to use it

Shake the bottle before use, as the formula separates. Wet your skin, apply a small amount, and massage for about thirty seconds. Those thirty seconds are where it usually goes wrong: most people cleanse in five seconds, and then nothing has had the time to do its job. Rinse thoroughly with lukewarm water, not hot.

What I would like to share with you

I'll be honest: this is a pricey cleanser, and a cleanser remains a product that you rinse off again. So, don't expect miracles from it. What you can expect is that your skin feels comfortable after drying instead of tight, and that is worth more than people think, because skin that feels tight after every cleanse is always playing catch-up. What I notice in the treatment room: anyone switching from a soap-based cleanser to something like this sees less redness around the nose within two weeks. And a bottle lasts a long time if you really only take a small amount.
