Biretix Duo gel - 30 ml

A facial gel for blemish-prone skin, designed to be tolerated even by those who react with redness or sensitivity.

Why it works

Blemishes occur when the upper cells in and around the pore no longer shed properly, causing the pore to become clogged. The heart of this formula is therefore Cantabria Labs’ RetinSphere technology: hydroxypinacolone retinoate, a form of vitamin A that the skin can use immediately, combined with retinol in small encapsulated spheres that release their contents slowly. This sustained release is exactly why it feels much milder than a classic retinol product. Salicylic acid complements this: it is oil-soluble and can therefore work deep within the pore itself. Meanwhile, vitamin E keeps the skin barrier in balance, which is why this gel does not dry out the skin as many treatments for this skin type do.

The texture is a light gel that absorbs quickly and leaves nothing visible behind. Dermatologically tested.

For whom

For mild to moderate blemishes on skin prone to spots and blackheads. Also, if your skin is sensitive and you have found everything too harsh until now: this is the gentlest gel in the Biretix line. You can also continue to use it during the summer months, which cannot be said for every product containing a retinoid. If you are looking for something stronger because you also want to tackle spots and rough texture, look at the Tri-Active Gel.

How to use it

Once or twice a day on cleansed, dry skin. Apply a thin layer over the entire area where you get blemishes, so not just as a dot on one spot: you also want to prevent what is not yet visible. It is better to start every other day and only move to daily use once your skin tolerates it well. It contains a retinoid, so apply sun protection every morning and do not expose your skin to tanning beds or bright sun while using it. Do not use during pregnancy or breastfeeding.

What I would like to tell you

I almost always have to tell people the same thing with these types of products: in the first few weeks, you won’t see less, but sometimes more. What was under the skin comes to the surface, and that feels like a step backward, even though it is not. Persevere until week six to eight before you decide. I will also be honest: this is cosmetics, not medication. If you have deep, painful bumps or scarring, you belong at a doctor’s office, and this is at most a supplement. For regular, recurring blemishes that so many people deal with, this is one of the gentlest ways to work on them. And leave your skin alone: picking is what creates the spots afterwards.
