Description

Only after consultation. I provide this product after a consultation to ensure it matches your skin's needs. Please feel free to send me a message or book a free intake, and we can look at it together.

A 180 ml cleansing gel for skin that is prone to congestion: shine in the T-zone, and small bumps on the chin and forehead that keep coming back.

Why it works

The active ingredient is salicylic acid, at a concentration of 2.25 percent. It is a beta-hydroxy acid, and the difference from the more well-known fruit acids is simple: salicylic acid is oil-soluble. This means it doesn't just stay on the surface, but mixes with the sebum inside the pore itself, loosening the accumulation of sebum and dead skin cells. That is why your skin feels smoother after a while and pores appear more refined, whereas a regular foam cleanser only addresses the surface. Aloe vera and panthenol, or pro-vitamin B5, are added to prevent your skin from feeling tight afterward.

The texture is a clear gel that lathers lightly with a little water. It rinses off completely and leaves no residue.

For whom

For oily, congested skin and for those who suffer from inflamed breakouts. Even if your skin is prone to reactions or feels sensitive: precisely because it is sulfate-free, it is often gentler than the standard anti-acne cleansers off the shelf.

How to use it

Morning and evening, as the first step. Take a pea-sized amount and mix it with a little water in your palm or on a fan brush. Massage in gently using circular motions, paying extra attention to congested areas, and rinse with lukewarm water. Keep away from your eyes.

The detail that often goes wrong: scrubbing too hard and for too long. Half a minute is enough. Anyone who goes at it for two minutes will end up with skin that squeaks at first and then produces extra sebum.

A piece of advice

This is not a product you should just buy because your skin feels oily. I provide it to people whose skin I know, usually as part of a treatment plan here at the institute, because an acid in your daily cleanser only works if the rest of your routine is tailored to it. What I see most often in the treatment room: people who are enthusiastic for the first two weeks, then hit a dip where the skin looks a bit more troubled, and give up. That dip is part of the process. Just keep going, and make sure you apply something nourishing afterward instead of leaving your skin dry. Dry skin produces more oil, not less.

Are you unsure if this cleanser is right for your skin, or what you should use afterward? Feel free to send me a message, and we can look at it together.
