Heliocare 360 Gel Oil-Free SPF 50+ Beige - 50 ml

High sun protection and a light, evening tint in one step, in the lightest of the three shades. For those days when you want to be protected, but don't want to head out with a white cast on your face.

Why it works

The reason people skip their sunscreen is almost never because they don't see the point. It's because they don't look their best wearing regular sunscreen under makeup, so they prefer to put on foundation instead. This gel solves that by being both: protection and tint, without an extra layer.

The protection is broad: SPF 50+ against UVB, plus filters that absorb UVA, visible light, and infrared, supplemented with Fernblock, the fern extract that Heliocare uses as an antioxidant alongside the filters. The color comes from iron oxides, and they do more than just add tint: they help block visible light, which is exactly the light that triggers pigment spots. A transparent sunscreen does not do that.

The texture is fluid, oil-free, and sebum-regulating, with a matte, dry-touch finish. Non-comedogenic.

For whom

For combination to oily skin, including those prone to blemishes, and for anyone concerned with pigmentation. Beige is the lightest shade and suits light skin or winter skin. If you tan in the summer, Bronze will look more natural at some point; those with naturally warmer skin tones are usually better off with Bronze Intense. If you have normal to dry skin, the Color Gelcream will be more comfortable.

How to use it

In the morning as the last step, on moisturized skin. Use two fingers' worth for your face, ears, and neck: a line of product across your index and middle fingers, from knuckle to fingertip. Distribute in dots over your face first and then smooth it out so the color stays even. Reapply every two hours when exposed.

My advice

A tinted sunscreen tempts you to use less of it, because the color can quickly become too much. That is exactly the risk: almost no one uses enough product, and you only achieve the SPF on the packaging with a generous layer and by reapplying every two hours. So, see this as your protection that happens to provide color, not as your foundation that happens to provide protection.

For touch-ups later in the day, the Compact or the transparent stick from the range works better than starting over with this gel.
