Glo Skin Beauty Under Eye Concealer - Beige

Beige is the calm, neutral choice in this series. A compact with two mineral shades that you use separately or blended, for the blue-gray shadow under your eyes that you can never quite remove with foundation alone.

Why it works

Dark circles are rarely just a matter of lack of sleep. What you see is usually a blue-gray shadow shimmering through thin skin. This is first and foremost a color problem and only then a coverage problem, which is why there are two shades in this compact. One neutralizes the color of the shadow, the other matches your skin. If you mix them according to what your skin needs at that moment, you truly remove the shadow instead of just laying a light stripe over it.

The pigments are mineral and finely milled, giving you high coverage with very little product. The base is more nourishing than a classic concealer: safflower oil, rich in linoleic acid, keeps the delicate skin around your eyes supple, and an antioxidant complex with vitamins C and E helps protect your skin against external influences. The texture is creamy, easy to blend, and sets with a soft, matte finish that lasts.

About this shade

Beige leans neutral: not overtly yellow, not overtly pink. It sits in the light to light-medium range and usually suits skin that tans a bit in summer, but naturally appears quite neutral. The compact contains two shades around that color, so you can blend the corrective and covering tones to match your own skin. The manufacturer does not provide an exact depth per shade, so if you are hesitating between two colors, feel free to let me know.

For whom

For those who mostly see that shadow under the eyes in the morning, or want to conceal small discolorations around the nose and corners of the mouth. Also for those whose skin around the eyes feels dry or delicate: this formula is soft and emollient enough not to settle into fine lines immediately. And it's perfect even if you barely wear makeup, because one layer in the right spot does more for your face than a full foundation.

How to use it

Always after your foundation, not before. Those who apply concealer first will just wipe it away with foundation. Pick up a small amount with a concealer brush if you want full coverage, or warm the product up with your fingertip and then gently dab it in with a sponge for lighter, more natural coverage. Stay within the shadow itself, usually in the inner corner and just under the eye, and don't fill in the entire half-moon area all the way to your cheek. Feel free to adjust the mixing ratio of the two shades with the seasons: your skin is lighter in February than in September.

My advice

The mistake I see most often is choosing a concealer that is too light. I understand the reasoning behind it, as lighter looks more awake, but in practice, you end up with pale spectacles on your face and the shadow becomes even more noticeable. It is better to take a shade that is close to your skin and correct the color, not the brightness. Also, give your eye cream a full minute to absorb before you start; on dry eye skin, any concealer will settle into fine lines, and that isn't the product's fault, but the base's. And keep it small: in the salon, I work with an amount the size of a grain of rice per eye, warmed on the back of my hand. You can always touch up if you use too little, but if you apply too much, you have to take it off.
