Why it works

The biggest misconception about sun protection is that it belongs to the summer season. UVB, the radiation that causes sunburn, is indeed strongest in the summer. But UVA, the longer wavelength that penetrates deeper and is primarily responsible for skin aging, is present all year round and passes through glass. Hence broad-spectrum: you need both filters, even in November at your desk by the window.

In addition to UVA and UVB filters, it contains rosehip oil with antioxidants and essential fatty acids, hydrolyzed wheat protein that forms an even film, and bisabolol that calms irritated skin. The texture is light and dries to a matte finish, so no shiny forehead by the afternoon.

For whom

For daily use by everyone, and especially if your skin has just undergone a treatment and is a bit more sensitive. For those who hate greasy sunscreen: this doesn't feel like that at all. And what you wouldn't expect: specifically for those who almost never go out in the sun. Those ten minutes to the bakery, the terrace in March, the car ride, it all adds up over a lifetime.

How to use it

In the morning, as the final step after your skincare, on your face, neck, and décolleté. Allow it to absorb for twenty to thirty minutes before heading outside. And then the part that almost everyone gets wrong: you are using too little. For the face and neck, you need about two full finger-lengths of product, spread across your index and middle fingers. With less, you simply won't achieve the SPF stated on the packaging. Reapply every two to three hours if you are outside, and especially after sweating or swimming.

A final note

Sun protection is the only product in your bathroom that I can say without a doubt must be used every day. Not because it’s the most expensive, but because the rest of your routine would otherwise be working against it. And one thing I see almost daily in the treatment room: people apply a thin layer to their face and stop. The hands, neck, and ears get nothing. Keep an eye on that, because that is where most people first show how much sun they have had.
