Glo Skin Beauty Contour Kit - Medium to Dark

A palette with four mineral powders to bring depth and light back to your face: two matte shades for contouring and two with shimmer for highlighting.

Why it works

Contouring is not about color, but about light. A matte, cooler shade makes an area visually recede, while a shimmering shade brings it forward. That is the whole principle, and that is why both types are included in this palette: you need both to create dimension that doesn't look like a drawing.

The powders are triple-milled mineral pigments, talc-free, with vitamin E and green tea extract. The milling is what makes the difference here: the finer the powder, the further you can blend a shadow without any harsh edges.

For whom

For anyone who wants more definition in their face: more prominent cheekbones, a more refined nose, a tighter jawline. Also great if your skin has become a bit flatter over the years and your features have softened.

You can also use the palette more loosely: the matte shades as bronzer, the shimmering ones as eyeshadow or on your décolleté.

How to use it

Work with an angled brush. Apply the dark colors under your cheekbones, along your hairline, on the sides of your nose, and along your jawline. Always blend upwards and outwards, until you no longer see where it begins or ends.

Then, apply the light colors to your forehead, brow bone, the top of your cheekbone, the bridge of your nose, and your chin.

About this kit

Medium to Dark is the version for medium to deep skin. The colors here are deeper and warmer, so that the shadow remains truly visible instead of fading into your own skin tone.

A tip from me

Contour is the step where things go wrong most often, and almost always for the same reason: too much product at once. Start with less than you think you need, blend, and only then see if you want more. Taking it off is much harder than adding more.

And always double-check in daylight before you leave the house. Bathroom lighting comes from above and hides exactly the edges that you will see outside.
